While on Holiday at the end of November last year, we visited Le Havre in France. While looking around the town, I came across a Cofféa Depuis in a shopping mall and had to go look at the coffees on offer.
I'm a sucker for anything from Brazil and had to see what they had to offer.
I had to try Café Brésil Espirito Santo!
As it's a single origin Coffee, It's from the Espírito Santo in Brazil, and it has hints of Chocolate.
Setup of Cofféa Depuis Brazil Espirito Santo for brewing
The coffee, once blended, came in at 166g:
Then once water is added, the coffee, as expected, starts up top of the Bodum and slowly, over time, will start to drop.
This will then brew for about 12/13 hours before I check, Stir, and then ready to Pour into the Hario:
The Taste
In the first cup, I did 300ml of coffee to 200 ml of water, and it was a bit strong, so the next few cups I did a 300ml coffee to 300 ml of water, and it was spot on:
Once I got the ratio right for drinking, the coffee had an after-taste of dark chocolate, so a little bitter but, not too much in your face, and had a decent caffeine kick too.
I did in one cup add a dash of milk and in fairness, it did bring out that chocolate taste a little more.
Considerations
The main consideration here is that it was from France, so getting imported could be difficult however, if you happen to be on holiday there and spot it, it's worth a bag to take home to try.
